Packing for travel is an art and packing for a NYC weekend that includes both work and fun is a good excuse to practice that art. Of course, when NYC is the destination, we all want to show out and wear all the things that feel too cool or too fancy to wear in your regular day-to-day life. But, I’d suggest a pause here to remember that the coolest people aren’t trying to be cool at all it’s just a vibe. So I’m not going to overthink this thing, I‘m going to throw some looks together that feel just like me, work perfectly for all the things I need to get done and fit in a carry-on. Friday night I’ll be seeing the Broadway Show Hadestown with one of my oldest and most favorite clients and here’s what I’m wearing. This Toteme blazer is a workhorse in my wardrobe and it comes on almost every trip I take, the Dries Van Noten bag is the outfit. I often find that the bag can make or break an outfit so I do tend to invest in really beautiful bags.
And here’s how I”ll style it. I always try on outfits before packing so that I know I like it before I put it in the suitcase.
